Job Summary:
HCCI is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial management, accounting, and reporting for our real estate and property management operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in property management, accounting, economic analysis, and budgeting.
Requirements:

Proven experience in real estate, property management, or not-for-profit accounting

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred

Job Title: Real Estate Accountant
Location: Harlem, NY
Job Summary:
HCCI is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Real Estate Accountant to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and reconciling financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements for our real estate investments and developments.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
3+ years of experience in accounting or a related field
Knowledge of real estate accounting principles, including revenue recognition and joint ventures
Familiarity with accounting software, including general ledger and financial reporting systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with real estate development, investment, or construction accounting
Knowledge of real estate tax laws and regulations
Familiarity with accounting standards, including GAAP
Certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus

Job Title: Property Manager
Location: Harlem, NY
Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000

Description:
HCCI is seeking a motivated Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of affordable housing properties in New York City. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strong resident relationships. The Property Manager plays a key role in maintaining high-performing assets, ensuring housing stability, and supporting the long-term sustainability of our communities.
Key Responsibilities:
What You’ll Do
• Oversee Operations: Manage day-to-day operations of multiple residential properties
• Drive Financial Performance: Maximize revenue, control expenses, and oversee budgets and reporting
• Ensure Compliance: Maintain compliance with HUD, Section 8, LIHTC, and other regulatory requirements
• Support Residents: Build strong relationships and resolve concerns to promote housing stability
• Supervise Staff & Vendors: Manage maintenance teams and coordinate vendor work
• Handle Legal Processes: Support lease enforcement and attend court proceedings as needed
• Conduct Inspections: Perform regular property and unit inspections, including move-ins and move-outs
• Collaborate Strategically: Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to support asset performance
• Travel between properties is required
• May require court appearances and occasional extended hours
What We’re Looking For:
Experience & Education
• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, business, or related field (preferred)
• 5+ years of property or asset management experience
• Required experience with affordable housing programs (HUD, HCR, Section 8, LIHTC)
Skills & Expertise
• Strong knowledge of NYC affordable housing regulations
• Excellent communication and resident relations skills
• Strong financial and operational management ability
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Yardi experience a plus
Preferred Certifications
• CPM, CHM, RAM, or similar
• Tax Credit Certification (TaCCs or equivalent)
