Malcolm A. Punter, Ed.D., MBA
President & CEO
Malcolm A. Punter is responsible for the management and oversight of all aspects of HCCI. Malcolm Punter earned a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) specializing in Executive Leadership, with an emphasis on social justice from St. John Fisher College. Dr. Punter also holds a Master of science Law Degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, specializing in international, corporate taxation and financial services, an M.B.A in Management, and a B.S. in Behavioral Science. Dr. Punter coordinates and manages the strategy for HCCIs real estate portfolio of nearly 3000 housing units and 70 commercial spaces. Dr. Punter reports to the Board of Directors on all matters related to the financial and operational sustainability of HCCI's more than $350,000,000 million dollars in real estate assets and social service programs. Rev. Dr. Charles Butler
Vice President of Equitable Development
Dr. Charles Butler has more than 18 years of experience in case management, job development, management of social service programs and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing/Business Administration, a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Education, Master of Divinity in Urban Theology and a Doctorate in Ministry and Spiritual Formation. As VP of Equitable Development, Rev. Butler manages HCCI's homebuyer education seminar, provides housing counseling and counsels small businesses and sits on numerous boards related to economic empowerment. Click here to read full bio

Sherill Henry
Vice President of Real Estate Development

Prior to joining HCCI, Sherill Henry worked in the real estate industry for 25 years, specifically in the fields of property asset management and development. Ms. Henry has served as Property Manager, District Manager, Area Manager, Portfolio Manager, Regional Property Manager and General Manager. Her career spans the spectrum of affordable housing, i.e., HUD project based section 8, NYS Mitchell Lama rental, NYS Mitchell Lama Cooperative Apartments, NYC HDFC cooperative apartments, NYC Mitchell Lama Cooperative Apartments, rent stabilization rentals, Section 202, senior citizen rentals, tax credit rental, private rentals and private cooperative apartments. Ms. Henry holds Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration and Law. She is also holds numerous certifications including: Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) and New York State Low Income Housing Tax Credit Compliance Certificate (LIHTC).

Alita Carter
Director of Corporate Relations
From the start of her career, Alita Carter has always been committed to finding out what influential aspects appealed to audiences and what measures can be taken to heighten the overall experience. From her more creative roles serving as an Asst. Executive Director (2017/2018) for the Newark International Film Festival to providing oversight to federal grants as a grants specialist for the City of Jersey City; Ms. Carter has launched a plethora of music, television, internet, advertising and publishing projects during her careers with Atlantic Records, Universal Records, BET, and Showtime Networks; along with several others, has provided market reach understanding and extended experience. Ms. Carter is a well-seasoned industry professional who's always excited to impart her knowledge and experience to advance the expansion of the overall goals intended.

Sheila Sturks
Executive Assistant to the President & CEO
Sheila Sturks joined HCCI as Executive Assistant to the President & CEO in July 2012. Prior to that, she worked at Synergistic Marketing, Inc. and A Better World Realty Corp., for a total of 18 years. Ms. Sturks has extensive experience in the Administrative and Marketing/ Advertising fields, and has held several executive positions. Ms. Sturks' greatest passion is caring for people. She is committed to making a difference and to helping to empower the Harlem community.
